Understanding Humility: A Stealth Mission from God

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and turn from their cruel ways, I will hear from heaven. I will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

(2 Chronicles 7:14)

In a world filled with ambition and competition, you often feel out of sync. There seems to be little value placed on the extraordinary virtue of humility. This causes you deep grief.

You are called to be humble and gentle. Gifted with that anointing, you walk through many of your God-given assignments virtually unnoticed.

Since humility often transforms into pride once it is recognized, truly humble people rarely see it in themselves.

Humility requires a great deal of divine intervention because most humans do not find it very satisfying. There is no humble-meter which measures the level of humility a person has attained.

There is rarely any human praise or worldly reward for your commitment to the virtue of humility.

Your God-given assignments are often stealth missions, guided and monitored by the Spirit of God. It is through your humility and gentleness that His compassion is revealed to those who need it most.

His grace is poured out on you as you walk in humility. Covered by this supernatural protective layer, you are able to complete each assignment without the distraction of people-pleasing or blind ambition.

Set Apart for Significance: The True Meaning of Holy

Glowing footprints light a winding trail through a serene meadow at dusk

Have the people make themselves holy for me. Tell them, ‘Set yourselves apart to the Lord.’

(Joshua 7:13)

The word holy has often been mistakenly used for someone who is grim, dutiful, and devout; one who maintains a high standard of pious behavior and has little patience for those who don’t.

However, in several scriptural passages, the word holy is defined as that which is uncommon or extraordinary.

You have been declared holy by the Creator of the Universe. God has stated that your existence is extraordinary, and your life is far from common.

There is significance in everything that you do. There is nothing ordinary or common about you.

You are holy. You are wisdom. You are free to talk openly with your Creator. Your life in Christ is a spring of living water, making ripple effects on the world around you.

Every place your feet touch becomes sacred ground, because you carry the Creator of Life within you.

The significant impact you make during your years on earth will pale in comparison to the lasting effect imprinted on the planet because you walked here.

Why Ask God If He Already Knows What You Need?

Yes, everyone who continues asking will receive. He who continues searching will find. And he who continues knocking will have the door opened for him.

(Matthew 7:8)

It may seem puzzling to ask for something that God already knows you need, but the process of asking is neither a waste of time nor an act of redundancy.

Admitting lack is difficult for you. Self-sufficiency is a preferred trait in this current world of self-reliance. The act of asking might be viewed by some as needy or weak.

However, when you ask of God, He is pleased. Your simple request confirms a willing dependence upon Him. It reveals humility and shows that you honor Him as a more reliable resource than yourself.

This brings you an enormous sense of adventure. Free from the weight of self-sufficiency, you are unrestrained by human limitations. You are empowered to accept any request from God, as He accepts each request from you.

This act of asking creates a partnership between you and your Source. It also reminds you who to thank when the requests are granted.

Your needs are met according to God’s riches, not your own. You do not seek security from a bank balance or a job title.  Your worth and value come from being a child of the King. You have been given the keys to His Kingdom and you are never more than a thought away from His presence.

As you continue your journey, your needs will be met in the right way and at the right time. Whatever you need will be provided; all you have to do is just ask.

Find Your Purpose: It’s Never Too Late

Moses was 80 years old, and Aaron was 83, when they spoke to the king.

(Exodus 7:7)

Like Moses and Aaron, you understand that it is never too late to start a new venture. When God reveals a fresh assignment, you know He will make a way for you to see it through to completion.

On some days your work is beautiful and clear, but other days, not so much. During the foggy days you rely on the mercy of God and your own personal tenacity to power through.

Like Moses and Aaron, you may not always understand what you’re doing or if it will succeed. But you know that God has a plan and the best place to be, is right in the middle of it!

When you become discouraged or tired from the strain, you remind yourself to be grateful for your call. You know that the Creator of the Universe designed you with a divine purpose in mind. No matter how risky or overwhelming your call may be, there is eternal significance in everything you do.

Christ took hold of you so that you can take hold of the destiny which is yours. You are bringing freedom to the people in your circle of influence.

You may wonder if the task will ever be completed or if the wandering will ever end. Yet, you remain patient knowing that God has a plan and He has deemed you a worthy partner to make it happen.

God’s Justice: Overcoming Adversity with Grace

Arise O Lord, in your anger; rise up because of the rage of my adversaries. Awaken yourself for me; You have commanded justice.

(Psalm 7:6)

The Lord cares deeply about you and comes to your rescue when you are being mistreated.  With the power of the universe at His command, He delivers justice to your oppressors.

God sees that some of the things you go through are difficult. You know that His help is required if you are going to be able to withstand the pressure and make it safely through to the other side.

With the calm reassurance of God at your side, these struggles do not leave you weakened.

Instead, you emerge from difficult predicaments with newfound awareness of courage and power.

You sense God’s presence with greater intensity during times when your burden seems too heavy to carry alone.

Because of this, you are grateful for your struggles, because they generate a new level of intimacy between you and your Creator.

Knowing that God is able and willing to work miracles on your behalf, you have come to rely on His power to set things right.

Because you know He is there to carry the heaviness you feel after having been wronged,  He enables you to move freely into forgiveness where healing can be found.

Assured that the Creator of the Universe is interested in what happens to you, and is willing to help whenever you are troubled, your confidence is solid and no earthly problem can shake it.

Understanding Your Role as a Prayer Warrior

Samuel said, “I will pray to the Lord for you.”

(1 Samuel 7:5)

You are often asked to pray for others. You are known as a prayer warrior. Friends, family, and acquaintances come to you with their needs, asking you to pray on their behalf.

Sometimes, you receive a prayer request from the Holy Spirit because an intercessor is needed to pray it through. This appeal comes to you as an inner urgency, placed there by God Himself.

You don’t always understand why you wake up in the middle of the night with a news story from across the world, replaying in your mind. All you know is that you must pray.

Other times, prayers are requested by those who know how powerful your prayers are and how seriously you take this responsibility.

Ironically, your most powerful battles on the spiritual front coincides with times when you are unable to function at full physical capacity. A lack of physical strength has no bearing on the results you produce in the spiritual realm.

Spreading Hope: The Impact of Divine Words

The Lord of heaven’s armies spoke His words to me.

(Zechariah 7:4)

The messages you receive from God are words of hope, healing, and harmony for those within your circle of influence.

You may not even realize the magnitude of each message when it is being received or delivered. But in time, you will see the impact of these tiny seeds of hope, as you scatter them freely along the paths you walk.

Your message of God’s love brings color and beauty to a world which would otherwise be dull and lifeless.

Why Success is Not Self-Made but Co-Created

The Lord said, “I don’t want them to brag that they saved themselves.”

(Judges 7:2)

You do not brag of being self-made or self-saved. You have a Maker who adores you and wants the best for you. He empowers you with vision and strength. He saves you from toxic relationships. He surrounds you with people who cheer you on.

You acknowledge you are made by divine design. You rely heavily on this Sacred Source who identifies your worth and maps out your destiny.

There are times when you do not feel prepared to move forward, yet you push through to the goal anyway.

There are other times when you are sure of your direction and run headlong into success.

In either case, you do not brag that it was your own efforts alone which brought you to the finish line. You believe in giving credit where credit is due.

You recognize your co-workers, your friends, and your family as some of the main contributors to your success.

However, you also know that the primary source of your success is the partnership you enjoy with the Creator of the Universe and that is where you find true security.
