A Good Work Ethic Gets You Noticed in God’s Kingdom

“A lazy person brings trouble to the one he works for. He bothers others like vinegar on the teeth or smoke in the eyes.”

(Proverbs 10:26)

You sometimes find yourself in a position where you are forced to work with lazy people.  You fully agree with the writer of Proverbs concerning this issue.

You are a hard worker and a valuable asset to any organization who employs your services.

Your work ethic goes beyond exceptional skills and productivity in your professional path. This core value is also a vital component of your personal life as well.

You are conscientious and well-organized. You pay close attention to detail. You dedicate your time and energy to caring for the needs of others, and in doing so, you are performing the work of God.

At first glance, the work you do may not look religious or even spiritual. However, God’s work as demonstrated by Jesus, involved a variety of tasks. Whether He was feeding the hungry, explaining scriptures, working as a carpenter, playing with children, or defending a criminal; all of it was God’s work.

While you may not feel you are called to a religious career on a grand scale, your chosen career path is no less meaningful to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Enjoyment of your work and the satisfaction you derive from it has ushered you into a sacred space of connection with your Creator. You sleep peacefully each night, knowing that you did your best to make good use of the day.

In these quiet moments of contentment, you hold a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.  It is in this holy place of twilight serenity; you connect with your Creator and find rest for your soul.
