“You cannot walk on hot coals
without burning your feet.”
(Proverbs 6:28)
You understand that every action has a correlating consequence. Therefore, you maintain a firm sense of right and wrong. You keep your distance from activities that will bring negative consequences. You avoid hatred and prejudice. You shun pride and arrogance. You see through deception and prefer to surround yourself with people who are authentic.
You avoid paths that lead to drama and chaos. Your sense of self is deeply rooted in your desire to do the right thing. You live by a set of standards which are aligned with values based on God’s word.
Without judgment, repulsion or excuse, you simply detach yourself from situations that would lead you into temptation. You avoid people who exhibit little concern for the pain they cause, or the negative impact they have on their fellow humans.
You do not join in with others who belittle or diminish another’s worth. You remove yourself from environments which are darkened by oppression, hate, prejudice, and intolerance.
You understand the concept of consequences and are careful to watch your step when it comes to walking in safe spaces. You know that getting too close to the fire can cause you to get burned, so the best option is to stay as far away as possible.
