Yes, everyone who continues asking will receive. He who continues searching will find. And he who continues knocking will have the door opened for him.
(Matthew 7:8)
It may seem puzzling to ask for something that God already knows you need, but the process of asking is neither a waste of time nor an act of redundancy.
Admitting lack is difficult for you. Self-sufficiency is a preferred trait in this current world of self-reliance. The act of asking might be viewed by some as needy or weak.
However, when you ask of God, He is pleased. Your simple request confirms a willing dependence upon Him. It reveals humility and shows that you honor Him as a more reliable resource than yourself.
This brings you an enormous sense of adventure. Free from the weight of self-sufficiency, you are unrestrained by human limitations. You are empowered to accept any request from God, as He accepts each request from you.
This act of asking creates a partnership between you and your Source. It also reminds you who to thank when the requests are granted.
Your needs are met according to God’s riches, not your own. You do not seek security from a bank balance or a job title. Your worth and value come from being a child of the King. You have been given the keys to His Kingdom and you are never more than a thought away from His presence.
As you continue your journey, your needs will be met in the right way and at the right time. Whatever you need will be provided; all you have to do is just ask.
